Proph W/Mo Doppelganger
Well, it's been nearly 3 years since I've faced a Doppelganger on a Warrior.
I figure I could just go on my old Warrior and find an optimal build, but it'd probably be easier to just ask here instead.
So, for a W/Mo, what would be the best build to face the Doppelganger (Acension) in Prophecies?
Now, there's two answers I'm looking for... First would be an optimal build, and next would be a build without elites. Both to a W/Mo constraint. Skills can be from any campaign; but not PvE only skills.
I was thinking something like so:
[build prof=W/Mo][frenzy][deadly riposte][gladiator's defense][/build]
Which I'd assume works (haven't tried yet); but, I think it becomes a fair bit more difficult without elites, keeping W/Mo class.

The Doppelganger does not use a shield, so bringing skills that require a shield (such as Shield Stance and Shield Bash) gives a significant advantage.
Equip an attack combo from left to right in reverse order (such as Final Thrust, Gash, Sever Artery). The Doppelganger doesn't understand the order certain skills should be used in, and prioritizes them from left to right on the bar when they are charged.
Any skills that cause you to lose all adrenaline (such as Wild Blow) can be a great benefit. Ignore them yourself and let the Doppelganger waste its own adrenaline using them on you.
Hard Mode Notes
An easy method to kill the Doppelganger is to use block skills like Riposte, Deadly Riposte and Gladiator's Defense. Stand close to the Doppelganger so it can attack you with its axe, and block all its attacks.
The 'attack chain in reverse order' strategy will not work on Hard Mode.
The Doppelganger will not use Frenzy.

That should work, did the HM version yesterday and worked like a charm.

Try 14 weapon mastery, equip only Frenzy, and either
1. Use it
2. Do not use it.
either way, you win.
This won't work in Hard Mode, since it is higher level (more armor, health), has higher weapon mastery and attacks faster.

Doppelganger will use [[Frenzied Defense] in Hard Mode, or at least he did when Hard Mode was introduced. Unsure if that has changed.

But the blocking outweighs the double damage (otherwise it's be useless), so unless you plan to nuke him to death what's the point? There's [[Warrior's Cunning] I suppose, and other unblockable skills, but is there enough to make a build around?

[Reversal of damage] and [Retribution] also works wonders if you dont plan on attacking him yourself and would rather see him suicide.
(not quite as funny as the [Spiteful Spirit] [Insidious Parasite] Dance, but it will do)

I used:
[Balthazar's [email protected]][Auspicious [email protected]][[email protected]][Deadly [email protected]][Frenzied Defense][Enraging [email protected]][Dolyak [email protected]][watch [email protected]]
IIRC. I was being overly cautious because Hard Mode was new, and I was unsure of the difficulty. Doppelganger was literally the first thing I did in Hard Mode, and I was expecting a challenge.
[[Frenzied Defense] would be good with W/N Curses, but he is quite simple to defeat without going to all the trouble of devising builds. Build above will kill him, but it's overkill. [[Watch Yourself] won't stack with [[Dolyak Signet] anymore.
Many ways to skin that cat.

To be honest I just put 4-5 reses on him, frenzy, and mending.
All of this was for kicks, but just frenzy works fine.
